NDP statement in support of Kiashke Zaaging Anishnaabek (Gull Bay First Nation)

QUEEN’S PARK — Sol Mamakwa, NDP Deputy Leader and critic for Indigenous and Treaty Relations, and Lise Vaugeois, MPP for Thunder Bay-Superior North, released the following statement:

“What several members of Kiashke Zaaging Anishnaabek (Gull Bay First Nation) have gone through is horrific, and the community deserves accountability and action to make sure it never happens again. Kiashke Zaaging Anishnaabek (Gull Bay First Nation) has our full support in their calls for nation-to-nation level discussions with the OPP commissioner regarding policing services and specific complaints.”
